The Gifford Pinchot National Forest have just announced a limited re-opening of certain trails and areas in the National Volcanic Monument. The full details can be found on their website, but it seems that the implications for us are these:
- Coldwater Lake and the Hummocks will be available.
- Johnstone Ridge Observatary, and all SR504 east of milepost 45 remain closed.
- Most trails open, such as June Lake and Lava Canyon
- Ape Cave, FR8303 leading to the Ape Cave, and Trail of Two Forests inaccessible.
With these openings in mind, I will shortly be announcing some re-arranged excursions. As the Creation Center still has to remain closed, we will opt for another muster point – the parking lot outside the Creation Center.
At the moment, the Creation Center must remain closed. But our telephone number is still available. Also, I will keep the webstore shipping costs free, until Monday June 8th 2020, when shipping charges will start again.
IMPORTANT: All those attending one of our excursions MUST pre-book, and bring with them a signed copy of this waiver form.
Payment will be by payment card or NFC only. No cash and no checks. We cannot supply pens for you to sign the waiver form – please bring your own. I cannot provide copies of the waiver form – please print your own copy.
