Thank you so much to everyone who helped with our new signs.
Thank you to all of you who gave to our crowd-funding appeal, through FaithLauncher.
Thank you to Tony at Sign Print 360 in Kelso, WA, who designed the vinyl signs, and printed them, at a very good price!
Thank you to Tyler Bond and his wonderful family for making the frames for the signs, and for installing them.
And thank you to Tim Keller and Warren from Curb Appeal, for coming to help install the vinyls today, along with our friends Neal Kandoll, Gary Roggenback (Toutle Christian Fellowship) and Joel Royce (First Baptist, Castle Rock).
It is great to be part of an awesome team, with Christians around the US, and wonderful people in our local community. God bless you all.
Popular creation speaker and writer Brian Thomas, who is Science Writer at the Institute for Creation Research, visited the Mount St Helens Creation Center this spring. He joined in one of our guided tours of the Toutle Valley, leading up to Mount St Helens.
Brian was kind enough to write about the Creation Center for the current issue of ICR's Acts & Facts magazine. In his article, he said a lot of nice things about us (the check's in the mail, Brian…) and urged his readers to come and visit our Center.
You can read the online version of the article here, or you can subscribe to Acts & Facts to get free copies.
We will be hosting a “turn-up-and-walk-in” car tour of the valley to Mount St Helens on Independence Day – Saturday July 4th 2015. Please see our events pages for full details. In brief – just turn up for our presentation at our center at 9:30 am – the presentation will begin at 10:00 am.
Details of our car tours can be found on our tours page.
I did not expect to be sending this email so quickly! Many thanks indeed to the many of you who gave to our crowdfunding appeal for new signs to replace our broken sign. We asked you for $1,000. Currently, the Appeal stands at $1,165! There is still an opportunity for you to give, because more finance will help us to purchase a better quality sign. At this point, even small donations of $5 or $10 will make a very significant difference.
So – if you still want to give, please use the FaithLauncher website. Please help us get back on the map, by giving generously to our FaithLauncher appeal. You will find the appeal at:
We are halfway to our target of $1,000 for new signs for the Mount St Helens Creation Center. The FaithLauncher site is showing $430, and another $100 has been given by other means (PayPal). So we have 53% of what we need!
Please help us to get the remaining $470 very quickly.
Our old sign has fallen apart! So we need new signs for the Mount St Helens Creation Center. Please help us get these signs, by supporting our crowdfunding project at FaithLauncher.com. See details below! Please share it on your Social Media pages.
Now that the tourist season is about to start, the Mount St Helens Creation Center is going to be opening on Tuesdays. If we need to close for any reason, it will be on Tuesdays – so we will publish any emergency closure info on this website. But if there is no other indication, you can now assume that, until Labor Day Weekend, we will be open on Tuesdays.
The month of April was a satisfactory one for funds for the Mount St Helens Creation Center. The season has started to pick up, with one or two people dropping into our center, especially with the good weather. We love to meet visitors, especially as so many conversations focus around Jesus and all that He is doing.
Unfortunately, the other visitors centers remain closed during the week, and Johnston Ridge Observatory – and the last 8 miles of road – will stay closed until May 16th. This limits the number of visitors.
Remember that this Center is a ministry – a 501c3 registered not-for-profit charity. We really entirely on your gifts to operate this place. Indeed, Geri and I rely entirely on your gifts for all our family living expenses.
What we really need most of all is people who will regularly pray for and give to our ministry. We need this on a regular monthly basis. We are asking that you will consider praying hard and seeing whether your budgets will allow you to give regularly to this ministry. We need about $5,000 per month to operate this Center and to live as a family. If just 100 of you gave $50 per month, this would meet all our current needs. On the other hand, if you could only give $20 per month, we would need just 250 of you to do likewise.
If you are glad that this Center is here, bearing witness to the truth of God's word, please consider giving regularly. While we value every one-off gift that is given, we really need to emphasize how much we need regular monthly giving. And, because we are a 501c3 ministry, all your giving can be set against tax, and we can provide an annual report for you based on your giving.
The Mount St Helens Creation Center will be at the North Sound Home School Fair on Saturday May 2nd 2015, from 9:30am through 2pm. Don't forget to come and visit our stand! There will be lots of bargains, information and much more! Find out how you can bring your home school group for a visit to the Center and a tour of the valley leading up to the volcano!
