This mini excursion will use the West Side route to the volcano. Because of time considerations, we will start at the Mount St Helens Creation Center at 12 noon. We will set off as soon as possible, and certainly no later than 12:15pm.
We will stop at Castle Lake Viewpoint, and then Coldwater Lake recreation area for lunch. (If the weather is poor, we will have lunch before we set off). We will take a truncated version of the Hummock's Trail, as far as the viewpoint and back. Then we will drive up to the Johnstone Ridge Observatory. If there is time, on the way back, we will stop at the Harry Gardner Park, but it may be necessary to miss this stop, as everyone will want to be ready for the evening meeting.
Andy and Juliet McIntosh will be joining us on this excursion, so it will be an excellent opportunity to get to speak with Dr. McIntosh.
It is our intention to return to the Creation Center by 4:00pm.
Saturday October 27th is International Creation Day. As usual, our Creation Center will be open. There will be a discount of 10% on everything sold that day.
The recorded keynote address will be broadcast via the Internet at 1:00pm. This year's keynote speaker is Paul Taylor, who will also be hosting the event at Castle Rock, WA.
Admission is free, but we would ask you to consider a donation to our ministry, to help us to continue to stay open during the Winter months.
This is our regular West Side Excursion. We begin at the Creation Center at 9:30am for a presentation. The excursion will end at the Johnstone Ridge Observatory at about 3:30pm. As this is a pre-season excursion, we will not be able to get to the JRO. There will be no donation requested for this excursion.
The JRO makes a charge for entering their building, or using their trails, of $8 per adult (aged 16 or over). Inter-agency cards and Senior cards are accepted, to gain entry for the user and 3 additional adults. No charge for those under 16.
